National Construction Safety Officer Certification (IHSA)

Advance your construction career by becoming a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO). The objective of this certification is to combine practical construction experience with a range of health and safety training.

A certified NCSO will be able to help construction managers implement and maintain a health and safety management system; recognize, assess, control and evaluate health and safety relevance to the work; communicate with management, inspection authorities and other groups on health and safety issues; and provide workers and other workplace parties with the relevant information and skills required for safe work.

Please note that after January 1, 2023 new applicants for this program will need to complete the courses marked *NEW below in addition to the existing modules before registering for the exam. Existing NCSOs will need to complete them within their next maintenance cycle.
