We're a union that believes that there’s more to work than just work. A workplace is a community, a place where everyone—workers, their union, and the employer—comes together to achieve a common goal. It’s a place where jobs and lives are intertwined.
Based on the values of respect, dignity, and fairness, we are committed to building better workplaces, better communities, and better lives. This commitment underpins how we negotiate on your behalf. We create a positive bargaining climate with employers, seeking win-win outcomes wherever possible. We get you what you need, without risking what you already have.
Welcome to a different kind of union, one committed to helping you get the most out of every day. Welcome to CLAC.
What makes us different?
Our representation is based on Christian values of respect, dignity, and fairness for everyone in the workplace. By championing you, we build positive workplaces and help to make every day a great day.
What we offer
We offer all the benefits of a unionized workplace—fair wages, great health and retirement benefits, access to training, and more.
Who we are
We’re one of the country’s fastest-growing unions, operating as both a union and a confederation of local unions. Since 1952, CLAC (Christian Labour Association of Canada) has been making a positive difference in the lives of workers and communities across Canada.
In the early 1950s, the Canadian labour scene was chaotic—filled with strikes, lockouts, violence, and the politics of fear. Our founders knew there was a better way. They believed that all people in the workplace deserve respect and dignity, that cooperation, not confrontation, creates better workplaces and stronger communities.
