Your Voice Matters!

Manitoba’s 43rd general election will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Did you know that in 1916 Manitoba became the first province to allow women to vote, and that it took another 16 years before all Indigenous people were invited to participate in Manitoba elections?

There are 57 electoral divisions in Manitoba. Your vote will help to determine who represents the electoral division where you live. The political party that wins the most electoral divisions will form the next provincial government.

You vote for health and safety reps and stewards, supporting the person you believe is best suited to perform the work. We need great leadership at the helm of our provincial government to address issues that matter to Manitobans.

We won’t tell you which party to vote for because CLAC is proudly nonpartisan. This means that CLAC doesn’t support any single party over another, and we don’t spend your dues on campaign contributions.

While we don’t endorse or finance any particular party, we are politically active. We bring the interests and concerns of you and your fellow members to every level of government—no matter their political stripe.

Orange, blue, red, green—you choose. But please do choose, and then get out there and vote because your voice matters!

Why vote?

  1. To exercise the right. We live in a democracy, and we have the right to vote. Why not use it?
  2. Out of duty. Many people feel it’s their job as citizens to participate in elections.
  3. To support a particular candidate or their political party.
  4. To have a voice and a say in how things are done.
  5. To change things, to make a difference.
  6. The system doesn’t work if people do not vote.

Which is your why? Now with that in mind, vote!
