Wednesday, April 11, 2018 Take Pride in Your Work Local 301 Newsletters Your employer needs to give you the time, supplies, and respect you deserve to do your job well. If you don’t have enough time to do your work, tell your supervisor. Never work through your breaks or past your shift unless you are getting paid. CLAC is committed to fostering a workplace where you are respected and supported. What should I do if I can’t finish my work? Your employer cannot discipline you for not completing all of your assigned tasks, provided you: 1. WORK at a reasonable pace to the best of your ability within your scheduled hours of work. 2. BEGIN work on time and do not take excessive breaks. 3. DOCUMENT any unusual events or conditions that interfere with your ability to complete your assigned tasks. 4. COMMUNICATE with your supervisor before the end of your shift if you are going to have difficulty completing your assigned duties. 5. ASK your supervisor to authorize overtime or have them prioritize what needs to be completed and what can remain unfinished. 6. CALL your union representative if you have a problem. Take pride in your work. Don’t give it away for free.
