Strong Gains for Members Employed by Can-Am Pipe Works

Local 52 members vote strongly in favour of new contract

Local 52 members employed by Can-Am Pipe Works Ltd. voted strongly in favour of a new three-year collective agreement.

The contract provides annual wage increases of three percent. Members will also receive a one-percent increase in employer pension contributions, bringing them to 10 percent. The annual boot allowance will increase from $300 to $400 in September 2021, and to $500 in September 2022. Members will also receive their full wages, less reimbursement from the court, for up to five days when serving on a jury.

“The membership provided clear direction about their priorities for the new agreement,” says Joshua Vanderlaan, Local 52 representative. “The negotiation meetings were productive, and the bargaining committee worked hard to achieve those priorities for this new agreement.”
