New Agreement Delivers Major Gains for Lor-Don Electricians

LONDON, ON—Electricians employed by Lor-Don Limited, a London-based contractor, have ratified a new three-year collective agreement providing significant wage increases, improved pension contributions, enhanced benefits, and better travel compensation.

The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53, which has represented the company's electrical division employees since September 2020.

The renewed agreement, effective November 1, 2026, provides total compensation increases of $7.40 per hour for journeyperson electricians over three years. Wage improvements will bring the journeyperson base hourly rate to $52.53 by November 2028.

The agreement also increases employer pension contributions to 11 percent of base wages and enhances vision, dental, and long-term disability benefits. Additional improvements include increased travel compensation, better travel conditions, and a higher annual tool and boot allowance.

“Our members expected and deserved exceptional increases to wages, pension, benefits, and travel compensation,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC representative. “I am pleased that management and the union were able to arrive at this settlement and that a strong majority voted in favour of it. The terms provide for fair, strong, and secure compensation improvements for our members and their families.”

The new collective agreement reflects a continued commitment to competitive compensation and improved working conditions for Lor-Don Limited's electrical workforce in London, Ontario.
