Strathcona Mechanical Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract

Calgary—Local 63 members employed by Strathcona Mechanical Limited unanimously ratified a one-year collective agreement. The local has represented the company’s employees since 1997.

The new contract provides the 15 members with a five percent wage increase and premiums for length of service as well as increased foreperson and lead-hand duties with the company.

Strathcona Mechanical is a commercial plumbing contractor based in Calgary with a small but very productive and reliable workforce. The company works on medium to large commercial projects, including recreation centres, bus barns, and hotel renovations as well as institutional projects often at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
