Saturday, November 18, 2023 Strategic Direction Over the coming months, we will be rolling out new delivery of safety training that will make it more accessible to you where you live while meeting the highest industry standards. Newsletters Saskatchewan Local 151 By Phil Polsom, CLAC Training Saskatchewan Director Over the last six months, your CLAC Training Saskatchewan Team has been engaged with an outside consultant to go through a strategic planning process to help develop a path forward for the next three to five years. It was a great opportunity to hear what we are doing well, what we need to focus on for the future, and what we were doing that needed to be worked on. The strategic plan development involved members, stewards, employers, and CLAC staff from across the country. Understanding the needs of all stakeholders will be key as we develop our training program moving forward. Over the last six months, there have been surveys, video and telephone consultations, a retreat, and a last consultation meeting before the final report is developed. We will be sharing updates with members as we develop strategies and will be looking for your feedback on what we are doing. This means fixing one of the things that was identified through this process—communication. We have been so focused on doing the work every day that we have not provided enough communication to stakeholders about what we do, what we offer, and what training services are available. Over the coming months, we are developing a marketing and communication plan that will get more information into the hands of members and other stakeholders that will improve access to the services we provide. We will be sharing with everyone the many things we are doing around training programs for Indigenous communities and the successes we have seen. We will roll out new delivery of safety training that will make it more accessible to you where you live while meeting the highest industry standards. We will also be making programs like scaffold training more available so that you can get the certification you need. So, expect lots of changes happening. We are excited about the future for members and want to be there to support your training needs along the way. If you have any questions about training or you need any help around training or apprenticeship, contact the CLAC Training Saskatchewan Team.
