The new contract provides the 70 members with substantial wage increases plus 12 percent employer contributions to their pension plan. The contract also includes new travel provisions, an increase to the per diem amount, an increase to the boot and tool allowance, and a 25 percent shift premium. “The members of Sheridan Electric Services and Hardie Industrial Services have come together under one collective agreement,” says Josh Vanderlaan, CLAC representative. “The bargaining committee worked extremely hard to keep existing practices in place and to gain improved provisions. The committee also worked tirelessly to keep in touch with members along the way to help inform the process. Without the members who served on the committee, we could not have reached an agreement.” The electricians and electrician apprentices employed by Sheridan Electric Services work throughout the GTA, London, and Niagara regions.
