Sunday, February 28, 2021 Scaffolding in Saskatchewan Newsletters Saskatchewan Local 151 This year has brought some new changes to CLAC Training, Saskatchewan. We became an accredited training institute (ATI) for the Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA). This new designation will allow us to continue to offer the SAIA training program to members in Saskatchewan as well as to those looking to enter the trade. SAIA has a 40-year history of providing industry-leading advocacy and support on the safe use of scaffold and access equipment globally. We will be offering the three levels of journeyperson scaffolding courses in the Saskatoon Member Centre. Scaffold professionals who continually work in the industry erecting and dismantling scaffolds of various types, regardless of height or configuration, may take the journeyperson course. The journeyperson program consists of three levels of training: Level 1 (first-year apprentice), Level 2 (second-year apprentice), and Specialty Level (third-year apprentice). This program also requires 1,600 hours of worked documented for each level of proficiency completed. We have dates listed for each level. For more information on the requirements and pricing, please call the Saskatoon Member Centre (877-649-2522) and speak to our training coordinator. For training dates, please go to our training calendar training calendar on clac.ca/training/SK or call the Saskatoon Member Centre.
