Rico Lighting & Electrical Services Employees Secure Wage, Pension, and Benefits Increases with First Contract

Mississauga, ON—Employees of Rico Lighting & Electrical Services voted unanimously in favour of their first three-year collective agreement providing annual wage and pension increases, among other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52.

The members, who are mostly electricians, will see journeyperson wages increase significantly by 28 percent over three years. The new contract includes notable additions such as participation in the CLAC Pension Plan and enrolment into the CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund, the CLAC Education and Assistance Fund, and the CLAC Construction Industry Fund.

“The bargaining committee was patient and remained focused on what they wanted to achieve as a unit,” says Randy Parris, CLAC representative. “We had very intricate and extensive bargaining sessions with the employer that resulted in an agreement that drastically improved every aspect of compensation for the members while keeping their employer competitive in the construction and service sectors.”

Rico Lighting & Electrical Services is a full-service electrical firm specializing in lighting retrofits and other electrical services in the Greater Toronto Area.
