Recent Local 63 Ratifications

Brand Energy Solutions Ltd.

Members have ratified to extend the collective agreement for 1 year. This extension will also see the health and welfare contributions increase to match the new cost of the plan.

Can-Am Pipeworks Ltd.

Members ratified a new 3-year contract. It provides wage improvements of 5% for journeypersons over the term.

Golderado Civil Ltd.

Members at Golderado’s Edmonton shop ratified a 2-year collective agreement that provides a 1% wage increase in 2019 along with a boot allowance and several new premiums.

JVD Installations Inc. – Maintenance Members voted 80% in favour of a new contract that provides a 1% increase to the base wage rate, 1% increase to stat holiday pay, and increased benefits contributions to maintain the full benefits package. A wage schedule review will occur in October.

Kiewit Energy Construction Co.

Members voted 73% in favour of a 32-month contract expiring October 2021. It provides a 2% increase to the base rate, 1% matching pension, and 1.5% end column increase for 2020. It also maintained the Gold Plus benefits plan and achieved various language improvements.

Pyramid Corporation

Members ratified a 2-year contract that contains vacation increases and full coverage for the increased health and welfare rate.

Traugot Building Contractors Inc.

Members voted over 90% in favour of the renewal of this 2-year collective agreement. It includes wage increases of 2% over the term plus increased flexibility in the CLAC retirement plan options to include the CLAC Pension Plan (in addition to the CLAC Group RSP). Other gains include increases to health and welfare benefits and best practices language for employer-sponsored training, health and safety, and tool storage protection.

Willbros Mine Services, L.P.

The 350 members at the Syncrude Base Plant/Aurora and CNRL Horizon sites ratified a 2-year contract providing a 3% increase to their compensation. It was also recognized that the majority of their work will be classified as maintenance, as opposed to construction. With this recognition comes notice periods/severance when there are layoffs and recall rights for those performing maintenance work.
