Chartwell Oakville Retirement Residences

Local 304 members at this retirement facility in Oakville received an arbitration award providing all employees with a 2% wage increase per year over the 3-year term. PSWs also received a special adjustment of 1%. Other improvements include a 1% increase to the pension plan, bringing employer and employee contributions to 3%, and a vision benefits increase of $50, bringing the new amount to $250 every 2 years.

King Nursing Home Ltd.

Local 304 members at this home in Bolton ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 2% annual wage increases over the term. Registered practical nurses will receive a special adjustment of 25¢/hr., and dietary staff who have completed their food service worker certificate will receive an additional 50¢/hr. Full-time employees will also receive an additional $25 toward vision care, bringing the amount to $300. The in-lieu-of-health-benefits premium that part-time staff receive will increase from 45¢/hr. to 55¢/hr.

Leacock Care Centre and Royal Rose Place

Local 304 members at Leacock Care Centre in Orillia and Local 302 members at Royal Rose Place in Welland have a 3-year agreement following an arbitration award released in December 2021. The new contract includes 1.5%/yr. wage increases, an enhanced sick-leave program, a 25¢/hr. night-shift premium, increased vision care to $300, increases to the uniform allowance, and improvements to chiropractic coverage.

Mill Creek Care Centre

Local 304 members at this facility in Barrie unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 3% wage increases over the term along with improvements to weekend and in-lieu premiums. A new orientation premium also was negotiated, an indication of the work involved with a very important part of onboarding new staff.

Whispering Pines Residence

Local 304 members at this long term care facility in Barrie unanimously ratified a 3-year agreement providing them with 6% wage increases over the term plus improvements to benefits, weekend premiums, vacation entitlement, and employer-paid pension contributions. In addition, language regarding the probation period was improved, making the process shorter and less cumbersome.
