Tuesday, November 19, 2024 Members at Work Members continued to be busy throughout the past fall. Here’s a look at what some of you were up to Newsletters Ontario Construction Gedco Excavating Ltd. Local 6 members employed as operators and labourers by Gedco Excavating were working at a job site in Scotland, Ontario. Winter & Son Drywall Ltd. Local 6 members employed as drywall finishers and plasterers by Winter & Son enjoy a coffee break while working on a residential construction project in the Brant County area. Zehr Construction Inc. Local 6 members employed by Zehr Construction are busy working on a job in Kitchener. The building pictured has been gutted and completely overhauled and turned into a residence for Conestoga College. The company has employed many newcomers to the trades. This site is full of labourers who are on their first construction job. Zehr Construction also has some very capable women on their team, including Jessica Allin, who is the site supervisor. Taylor Freiburger took on the very crucial role of health and safety representative. This was her first experience in construction. Daniela Morales, a labourer, is a newcomer to Canada. She moved to Canada from Chile where she was a civil engineer.
