Employees Unanimously Ratify First Agreement Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Etobicoke, ON—Local 52 members employed by London Development Corp. unanimously ratified their first collective agreement providing them with excellent wages and employer-paid benefits plan and retirement savings. The three-year contract provides members with wage increases of up to $7.57 per hour over the term plus 5.5 percent employer contributions to the CLAC Pension Plan. In addition, members will receive employer-paid health benefits through CLAC’s benefits plan. The agreement also provides a 10 percent shift premium, a 12 percent foreperson premium, a 6 percent lead-hand premium, up to 12 percent vacation pay, and a $400 annual boot and tool allowance. Members will be paid their hourly rate as soon as they leave their home until they return and will receive daily gas reimbursement. “The London Development Corp. employees for the most part have dedicated decades of service to the company, while constructing student housing across Ontario,” says Randy Parris. “This new contract provides life-changing increases for members and their families, which subsequently will improve their quality of life.” London Development Corp. employs Local 52 equipment operators and labourers.
