Local Healthcare Workers Need Your Help!

Donations of Protective Equipment Needed

Help us keep our local healthcare workers safe. Starting today, CLAC Local 303 is asking for the public's help by dropping off any excess personal protective equipment (PPE) that they may have purchased recently or have in their homes or businesses.

“As we are all aware, there is a global shortage of PPE for healthcare workers. Now is the time to rally together and do our part to make our healthcare professionals as safe as possible while they continue to show up to work and take care of our communities” says Trish Douma, CLAC’s Chatham director.

CLAC will be accepting the following PPE at their Chatham member centre during business hours:

Any unused medical masks, including procedural masks, mask with face shields, and N95 masks.

In order to maintain social distancing and the health of the public and our staff, a plastic tote will be placed at the front door of the member centre. We ask that you place your donation in a sealed bag and place it in the tote. If you are not able to drop off items at the local member centre, please email chatham@clac.ca and we will arrange for donations to be picked up.

Items will be collected and brought to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) on a regular basis. These items will be used only once the current supply at CKHA is depleted. In the event that CKHA does not use the donated PPE, the items will be donated locally.

Please consider donating your unused PPE to our community healthcare workers. We all need to work together to get through this uncertain time.

CLAC is located at 455 Keil Drive South in Chatham, Ontario. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
