Spend less time worrying about what doesn’t matter and focus on what does Blogs Newsletters National By Quentin Steen, Representative/BC Member Education Coordinator There was once a traveller who had walked roads others couldn’t fathom. People often judged the traveller for where they stood now, unaware of the storms they had braved to get there. The traveller carried scars like medals, each one telling a story of battles fought in silence. One day, a stranger approached and criticized the way the traveller handled an obstacle. “If it were me,” the stranger said, “I’d have done it differently.” The traveller smiled faintly and replied, “Perhaps you would have. But your mountains are my molehills, and my storms might be your gentle rain. What feels monumental to you could be insignificant to me—and that’s okay. “We all walk different paths, shaped by what we’ve endured. My steps may not make sense to you, but they’re the only ones I know.” The stranger frowned, confused, but the traveller continued. “Ask yourself this: do you truly understand others as deeply as you think, or do you simply project your world onto theirs?” And with that, the traveller walked on, unbothered, leaving the stranger to ponder the words. Spend less time worrying about what doesn’t matter and focus on what does. Because in the end, all of this is just a part of the journey.
