Tuesday, September 16, 2025 Grabbing a Bite Together Fosters Community Local 304 members and King Nursing Home management took a break from the bargaining table to the dinner table. Local 304 Ontario Healthcare It had been raining all day, but the skies cleared up just in time for CLAC representatives Judith Jackson and Elizabeth Coolahan, together with steward and cook Sandra Cranston-Corradini, to host a barbecue for the approximately 120 Local 304 members working at King Nursing Home in Bolton. Sandra came in on her day off to help with the event and cooked all of the burgers. She is a huge advocate for fellow staff, and holding the barbecue was mainly her idea. She was joined by fellow stewards Manjit Banwait and Ivy Abakah. A tray of samosas was prepared for the night shift staff to enjoy. CLAC has represented King Nursing Home employees for 38 years. All staff and management were invited in the spirit of building trust and to promote a positive workplace culture. Currently, negotiations are underway for a new collective agreement, with several productive bargaining days already taking place. It was a welcome treat for everyone to take a break from negotiations and grab a bite to eat together.
