Gordon Ruth Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract

London, ON—Contract renewal has been secured for the communication and data technician employees of Gordon-Ruth and Company Ltd. The employees voted in unanimous favour of the settlement negotiated by their union, Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. New terms take effect May 1, 2025, and continue until April 30, 2028. CLAC Local 53 has represented the employees since 2019.

The three-year contract provides employees with total value increases between 15.2 and 15.9 percent, depending on classification. Along with solid hourly pay increases each year, the new agreement also provides for increased employer contributions to employees’ pension plan and healthcare benefits as well as improved travel reimbursement and a new provision of two paid sick days per year.

“The members employed Gordon Ruth provide invaluable service to the healthcare and education systems in the province of Ontario,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC representative. “This new contract recognizes their worth and provides members and their families with secure and stable income for both their present needs as well as the future.”
