Gordon-Ruth and Company Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract

London, ON—Communication and data technician employees of Gordon-Ruth and Company Ltd. unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing strong wage gains and other improvements.

The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The union has represented them since 2019.

New terms of the contract take effect May 1, 2022, and continue until April 30, 2025. The agreement provides employees with total value increases between 10.2 and 10.4 percent, depending on classification. Along with solid hourly pay increases each year, the contract provides increased contributions to the employees’ pension plan, improved long term disability coverage, and higher allowances for both employee tool and boot purchases as well as daily living-out allowances.

“The members employed by Gordon Ruth provide invaluable service to the healthcare and education systems,” says Roger Grootenboer, CLAC representative. “This new contract recognizes their worth and provides them and their families with secure and stable income for both their present needs as well as the future.”
