Glencoe Installation Employees See Significant Wage Increase, Many Other Improvements with New Contract
Glencoe, ON—Glencoe Installation Corp. employees, based in Glencoe, Ontario, voted 73 percent in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement providing them with significant wage increases and many other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52.
The new contract provides employees with a 15 percent wage increase over the term along with a three percent increase to employer contributions to their retirement savings. In addition, the agreement includes significant increases to employees’ health benefits plan, a two percent increase to vacation pay, a $300 increase to the boot and clothing allowance, and an increase to the out-of-town meal allowance. Other improvements include an increase to the per kilometre rate to 2024 Canada Revenue Agency rates and increased employer contributions to the union’s Education and Assistance and Industry funds.
“Glencoe Installation is a relatively new and growing company with a core group of young workers,” says Randy Parris, CLAC representative. “The bargaining committee was focused on achieving a competitive wage package for members. This new agreement provides them and their families with stable income and, more importantly, a future to look forward to.”
Glencoe Installation is a telecommunications company providing services to London, Caledon, and surrounding areas. Local 52 members are employed as labourers, network technicians, service technicians, and operators.
