The new agreement runs from November 1, 2025, to October 31, 2028, and provides total wage increases of eight percent over the term. Members will also now receive the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a paid holiday, bringing their total to 12 paid holidays each year. Other key improvements with the new contract include pay in lieu of shortage of workdays for technicians; faster progression to higher vacation levels, reaching up to 6 weeks after 25 years; a formal $500 health spending account; immediate eligibility for the full employer retirement plan match of $125 per pay period (up to $3,000 per year) following probation; increased boot and tool allowances ($275 for parts workers and $800 for technicians); clarified outside work approval rules to ensure fairness and transparency; and updated evaluation procedures for parts employees, standardizing processes, and providing income protection during the transition from salary to hourly pay. “This agreement delivers meaningful improvements for members—from stronger benefits and retirement provisions to clearer, fairer workplace practices,” says Shawn DeVries, representative. “It’s a well-earned step forward that recognizes the skill, dedication, and contribution of these tradespeople. Congratulations to the bargaining committee and all First Truck Centre members for achieving a strong collective agreement that continues to build fairness and opportunity at work.” Logistics, Manufacturing, and Allied Trades Union, CLAC Local 56, has represented First Truck Centre employees since 1994.
