Whether it’s because of the seemingly never ending COVID-19 crisis, or just generally a feeling of being overwhelmed at work or in your life, there always seems to be a steady stream of things to worry about. 4 Resources to Get You through Difficult Times Your CLAC stewards and representatives are available to answer your questions. Alberta residents have free access to a virtual mental health network called Togetherall, a free, online network that offers anonymous, peer-to-peer mental health services 24 hours per day, seven days per week. You can sign up for Togetherall at ahs.ca/virtualmentalhealth. Your workplace employee and family assistance program provides free guidance and support. Working in the health and service sector during the pandemic has been difficult for many. If you have a workplace safety concern, address it first with your supervisor and then reach out to your Workplace Health and Safety Committee or seek out a mental health first aid attendant. 6 Ways to Combat Generalized Fatigue outside of Work Hours Talk to someone about your concerns. Get six to eight hours of sleep per night. Set aside screen-free time, especially before bed. Exercise for 20 to 30 minutes each day. Take time to breathe slowly and intentionally. Pause to reflect on the things that you’re grateful for.
