Sunday, September 7, 2025 Falls from Height Report Released Ontario Construction Construction The Construction Death Review – Annual Report of Fatalities: Falls from Height (2025) has been released. CLAC participated as a stakeholder in shaping this new review process. Unlike previous reports based on individual inquests, this is the first of its kind, an annual, system-wide review of multiple fatalities that aims to identify broader patterns and practical recommendations. The report examines 26 worker deaths from 2017 to 2023 and includes 7 recommendations. These are not regulatory changes, but they may influence future policy and practice. 5 Key Highlights from the Report Most deaths involved men over 50 Most deaths occurred later in the work week. Many fatal falls were from heights under 10 feet. Contributing factors included lack of supervision, noncompliance, and inadequate training. The report’s recommendations call for improved supervisor training, better public awareness, and use of real-life case studies in training.
