Entrust Adult Inc. Employees Secure Significant Wage Increases with Newly Ratified Contract

Edmonton—Employees of Entrust Adult Inc. in Alberta have overwhelmingly ratified a new three-year collective agreement providing meaningful wage improvements, with some members receiving 18.5 percent increases over the course of the contract.

The 650-plus members have been represented by Retail, Health Care and Service Employees Union, CLAC Local 301 since April 2013.

In addition to the wage improvements, all members will receive 10 percent retroactive pay for all hours worked between January 1 and July 21, 2023. A major grievance related to overtime miscalculations has also been resolved, and language in the new agreement has been updated to clarify and rectify this issue, resulting in backpay for affected employees since the beginning of the previous agreement.

“We are pleased with the advancements we were able to secure in this latest agreement, with the average CLAC member employed by Entrust receiving a 15.9 percent wage increase,” says Robyn Haarsma, CLAC representative. “Special thanks go out to our bargaining committee, without whom we would not have been able to finalize this contract, and to Juliann Mans, the unit’s secondary representative.”
