Through the program, students will be taught all the basic requirements to get them into the carpentry trade. This includes classroom training where they will learn material from the Level 1 apprenticeship course curriculum. There is also a hands-on component where the students are working on projects that will teach them skills needed to begin their career in the carpentry trade. For this program, we have once again partnered with Wanuskewin Heritage Park to build a much-needed change room building for their sweat lodge. This is the second project that we have been able to partner with Wanuskewin Heritage Park, and we are pleased that they have placed their trust in us to deliver. On top of the regular safety training that the students will need to begin working, CLAC Training also focuses on employability skills. We provide classes for the students in psychological first aid, financial literacy, communications skills, and job skills. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be placed with CLAC-signatory contractor PCL Builders Inc. PCL has once again agreed to partner with us to provide work opportunities for students completing the program.
