Nathan Koslowsky (CLAC rep) and Leslie Birta Friday, July 26, 2019 Building Communities Winners in Manitoba! Causes nominated by Local 152 members News Twice per year, CLAC awards donations of $1,000, $1,500, or $2,500 to local causes nominated by members. All causes and amounts are selected at random from qualified nominations. In June, The Ricky Cup, nominated by Randy Lamontagne, won $1,500 and Southeast Helping Hands, nominated by Leslie Birta, won $1,000. Both Local 152 members are employed by Premier Horticulture Ltd. The Ricky Cup “The Ricky Cup is a two-day ball hockey tournament fundraiser held in Marchand,” says Randy. “This fundraiser was created in memory of Rick Lamontagne, who passed away tragically in a car accident five years ago. For the past five years, we have raised money to help our community in many ways, including supporting the breakfast club at Arborgate School, roof renovations at a local church, and the rink itself. This donation will go a long way in supporting our community.” Southeast Helping Hands “Southeast Helping Hands is a nonprofit organization that provides food assistance to those in need in Steinbach, as well as 25 other small communities in southeast Manitoba,” says Leslie. “Each month, on average, our local food bank serves 1,000 people and provides 360 bags of food for families. All donations that come to this food bank go directly toward helping those in our community. This donation will go a long way with helping struggling families in our community.” Nathan Koslowsky (CLAC rep) and Leslie Birta Previous Next You might be interested in Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026 Ready to Deliver 3 Jun 2026
