Locals Local 63 Newsletters Alberta Local 63 Four causes nominated by Local 63 members won a donation as part of CLAC’s Building Communities program. 100 Airdrie Men Who Give A Damn received a $2,500 donation. The organization was nominated by Wayne Lodge, who is employed by PCL Energy Inc. “100 Airdrie Men Who Give A Damn is a simple, quick, and meaningful way to help make a major impact in your community,” says Wayne. “One hundred men pledge to give $100 four times per year to local charities and community groups. You show up, hang out with some great guys, watch three presentations, and vote. The successful recipient gets $10,000 to support their incredible work. CLAC’s donation is a great contribution to this cause.” Tree Canada received a $2,500 donation. The organization was nominated by Michael Lastella, who is employed by AECOM Maintenance Contractors Ltd. “Tree Canada is a national organization that helps all communities, not just one,” says Michael. “They are dedicated to planting and nurturing trees all over Canada. Since its origin, the nonprofit has planted over 83 million trees. CLAC’S donation will help Tree Canada with restoring the environment and thus creating what we call a greener, greater Canada.” Little Warriors received a $1,000 donation. The Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch is a specialized, intensive, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment centre focused on helping children who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. The national organization focuses on advocacy and treatment for victims, as well as awareness and prevention of sexual abuse. The Be Brave Ranch program offers a one-year combined onsite and outpatient program designed with significant input from many leading academic and clinical experts who specialize in child sexual abuse and trauma. This donation will support us in our efforts to support the children and families in our community. Sharebear Playschool Society received a $1,000 donation.
