Friday, December 19, 2025 Breaking Barriers for Northern Tradeswomen CLAC’s SWIT program is connecting northern Ontario women with mentorship and career support in the skilled trades Blogs National A national program helping women enter and thrive in the skilled trades is making new inroads in northern Ontario. CLAC’s Supporting Women In Trades (SWIT) initiative, launched in 2024, is expanding awareness of its free, remote services designed to support women in isolated regions where access to career and mentorship resources can be limited. From resume help and apprenticeship guidance to one-on-one coaching and job connections, SWIT “meets women where they’re at,” offering personalized support for tradeswomen at every stage of their careers.
