Saturday, November 22, 2025 Benefits Update Positive news for 2026 brings higher coverage and lower costs for many members Ontario Construction The CLAC Group Health Benefits Plan has completed its annual renewal with insurance providers—an important milestone that sets benefit costs for the year ahead. This year’s renewal brings several positive changes for members. Coverage Changes, Effective January 1, 2026 Higher Dental Maximums Basic and minor restorative services will rise from $1,500 to $2,000 per calendar year. Most plans cover these services at 100 percent of cost. Major restorative dental coverage also increases from $1,500 to $2,000, continuing at 50 percent of cost for members with this option. Cost Changes Lower premiums for nontaxable, employee‑paid long term disability (LTD) coverage—down 13 percent. Modest premium increases for other benefit categories. Overall, this renewal marks a strong improvement compared to last year—welcome news for most members and employers. Some workplaces will still need to improve collective agreement funding levels, and your representative will continue to work with you on that. Claim Submission Changes GreenShield—your benefits provider—is introducing a new industry‑standard digital process for member‑submitted claims (date of launch to be announced). Members sending direct claims (for example, medical devices or orthotics) will need to upload a receipt with their submission. This update does not affect convenient point‑of‑sale transactions such as drug card purchases, dental office billings, or direct billing through providers like chiropractors or massage therapists. Together, these updates strengthen the long term stability and value of the benefits plan, ensuring it continues to meet members’ needs today and for years to come. As always, CLAC is committed to supporting the well‑being of members and their families through reliable, practical benefits that make a real difference every day.
