Scaffolder Journeyperson Program – First Year
CLAC is an accredited training institute for the Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA), providing training for all levels – from beginner to journeyperson.
The SAIA Scaffolder Journeyperson Program is an apprenticeship-style program which includes theory training to keep you safe, skilled and certified to work on any job site. This program was developed based on the provincial OH&S code, best practices, CSA Standard Z797-18, and the Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA).
Program Highlights
Level 1 covers basic tools, hoisting and rigging, scaffolding math, and industry regulations and safety. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of frame, system, and tube and clamp scaffolds. This level will heighten your safety knowledge of materials and codes within your region.
Successful completion of the program grants second year apprentice status.
Prerequisite:
- Documented proof of 1,600 scaffolding hours
