Supervisor Micro-Certification Program

The Supervisor Micro-Certification Program (SMCP) is made up of a series of modules. You must complete Module 1, Module 3, Module 4  and Module 5 prior to beginning Module 6.
 

SMCP Module 6 – Safety Leadership

In-class or Distance Learning

Module 6 is about creating physically and psychologically safe working environments for everyone.  Developing a safety-first culture on job sites—where team members respect, support, and look out for the health and safety of all their colleagues—will change the construction industry.

In this final core module, participants will pull together all the skills they have developed and learn:

• What a safety-first mindset really means
• Why creating a safer culture will improve recruitment and retention of team members
• Why a team that looks out for everyone’s safety will be more committed to the tasks
• How to spot issues as they arise and use EI to diffuse and use any conflict 

Structure: Instructor-led session (in-person or virtual), which builds on core leadership competencies using group discussions, leadership assessments, applications to real-world situations, and access to peer-to-peer collaboration and mentorship.

Upon successful completion of the module, participants are issued a digital badge and a certificate of completion for SMCP Core.

Non-Member Price: The cost of this module is covered by the one-time registration fee paid upon enrolment in Module 1. You must complete Module 1, 3, 4 and 5 prior to beginning Module 6.
