Telehandler/Zoom Boom (Variable Reach Forklift) Operator

This Class 7 telehandler certification training covers the following:

  • Components of the telehandler
  • Design characteristics of telehandlers
  • Safety equipment
  • Operating controls
  • Data plates, decals and required manuals
  • Proper handling of fuels
  • How to handle emergencies
  • Handling loads
  • Fundamentals of telehandler operation
  • Operator evaluation (written)

Practical Session:

  • Review and conduct an Operator's Pre-start Inspection checklist
  • Driving evaluation based on good and safe operating techniques

Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a wallet card, valid for 3 years (annual review is strongly recommended), indicating that they met the training requirements mandated in the province of British Columbia.

NOTE: If you also require counterbalanced forklift training, you may complete counterbalanced forklift operator and telehandler training in the same day. Theory will take place in the morning covering both machines and then practical will take place in the afternoon on each piece of equipment. If you choose to do both, the duration of the course will be approximately seven hours. Course lengths vary based on experience levels.
