Forklift (Counterbalanced) Operator

This Class 1, 4 & 5 counterbalanced forklift training will cover:

  • Safety regulations and standards
  • Lift truck fundamentals
  • Safe load handling techniques
  • Proper start up and shut down
  • Principles of balance, stability, and capacity
  • Controls and steering
  • Job site safety awareness
  • Pre-operational inspections
  • Operator assessment (practical)
  • Operator evaluation (written)

Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a wallet card, valid for 3 years (annual review is strongly recommended), indicating that they met the training requirements mandated in the province of British Columbia.

NOTE: If you also require telehandler training, you may complete counterbalanced forklift operator and telehandler training in the same day. Theory will take place in the morning covering both machines and then practical will take place in the afternoon on each piece of equipment. If you choose to do both, the duration of the course will be approximately seven hours. Course lengths vary based on experience levels. When you click request to register there will be a spot to request both courses.
