Welding – Procedure Development and Revision

CLAC Training offers welding procedure development and revision of existing procedures done to ASME Code Section IX – BPVC and CSA Welding Standards. 

Welding Procedure Development

Welding procedure development includes the witnessing of Procedure Qualification Records, development and writing of Procedure Qualification Records and Welding Procedure Specifications, and the submission of related documentation to governing bodies for processing.  All welding procedure development and revision is done in compliance with governing standards. 

The average length of development time is 1-2 weeks, but advanced procedures may take longer to develop.    

Available testing includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Charpy Impact Test
  • Vicker’s Hardness Test
  • Macro Etching
  • Liquid Penetrant Testing and Inspection
  • Bend Testing
  • Tensile Strength Test

Welding Procedure Revision

Taking procedures that are already in use and adding to them. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Impact testing for use in cold service
  • Increasing the thickness range
  • Changing the gas composition being used
  • Adding the ability to do a post weld heat treatment

The average length of revision time is 1-2 weeks. Advanced revisions may take longer.

If the client is unable to provide their own welder, CLAC can supply one upon request for an additional fee.
