Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE)

Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) includes Air-Purifying Respirators (APR), RPE, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus (SABA) & Bottlewatch training. This course consists of both classroom and practical field instruction. This course is SUNCOR & SYNCRUDE approved.

Upon completion of this course, the trainee will be able to successfully:

  • Identify when a worker would use the SCBA & SABA
  • Demonstrate, through a practical exercise, the proper procedure for donning, use and removal of the SCBA & SABA
  • Identify the capabilities and limitations of the SCBA & SABA
  • Emergency Procedures

Expiry: 2 years

Duration: 4-6 hours depending on course provider
