Thursday, September 11, 2025 Young Electrical Services Employees Secure Significant Wage, Pension Increases with New Contract Local 53 Ratifications Construction ESSEX, ON—Employees of Young Electrical Services Ltd., an electrical contractor based in Essex, Ontario, voted unanimously in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement providing them with significant wage and pension increases. The company’s electricians are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 53. The union has represented them since 2019. The new contract provides employees with an 18.5 percent wage increase and 14.75 percent increase to employer contributions to their pension plan over the term. Employees will also benefit from the addition of two paid sick days, life insurance increases, and $40 per month toward the cost of their personal cellphone.
