Winnipeg Construction Workers Secure Wage and Retirement Gains in New Aecon Agreement

Winnipeg, MB—Employees of Aecon Construction Solutions, a construction and infrastructure contractor operating in Winnipeg and Niverville, ratified a new collective agreement delivering wage increases, enhanced retirement contributions, and improved workplace protections.

The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 152, which has represented the company’s employees since 2017.

The group voted in favour of the sixteen-month agreement securing a three percent wage increase, along with a two percent increase to employer retirement contributions. The agreement also includes improvements to electrical apprenticeship progression, enhanced premiums for lead hands, forepersons, and night shift work, and updated overtime calculation provisions.

Additional improvements include enhanced health insurance coverage following a workplace injury, providing greater protection and support for members.

“This agreement reflects a thoughtful approach to balancing fair compensation with the long-term needs of both employees and the company,” says Nathan Koslowsky, CLAC representative. “It strengthens key areas like retirement, premiums, and workplace protections while supporting the continued development of skilled tradespeople.”

Aecon Construction Solutions provides construction and infrastructure services, with employees currently working on projects in Winnipeg and Niverville.
