Wednesday, November 1, 2017 Wicked Welding Winners Check out the winners of our 2017 competition! News Students from seven Edmonton-area schools put their creativity and welding skills to the test at the Second Annual Wicked Welding competition on October 28, 2017. Each school group created a Halloween-themed sculpture using various welding processes and cuts to showcase their abilities. The competition is a joint partnership between CLAC, the CWA Foundation, and high schools from the greater Edmonton area. “I’ve participated in the competition twice now and I have enjoyed every moment of it,” says Nick Pereira of St. Joseph’s. “The competition shows the future generation of welder what can be done with metal and how fun it can really be. Working in teams also brought friendships that will last, and great memories. The facility was an amazing place to weld and the people judging and helping out were very helpful and fair.” Congratulations to this year’s winning team from Leduc Composite High School, who sculpted The Witch Stick!
