Tuesday, March 11, 2025 Westward Electric Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract Locals Local 63 Ratifications Sectors Construction FORT MCMURRAY, AB—Local 63 members employed by Westward Electric Site Services, a single source electrical and HVAC company, unanimously ratified a 31-month collective agreement. The new contract provides members with a 4.56 percent increase to base wage rates, with wage reviews scheduled for 2026 and 2027. Other gains include a 50 percent increase to the dual ticket premium from $2 to $3 per hour and a summer work boot allowance. Employer-paid premiums for members’ benefits plan were increased, and CLAC Training’s new model will be implemented over the next year providing better training opportunities for members. In addition, apprentices will see a $300 increase in tuition reimbursement for apprenticeship schooling and books. Westward employees approximately 35 electricians and HVAC technicians working at various sites in the Wood Buffalo region and in the town of Fort Murray.
