Friday, August 16, 2019 Welcome Back! Locals Local 304 Newsletters Sectors Healthcare The 17 employees of Hampton Court Retirement Residence in Southampton, Ontario, recently voted by a strong majority to leave Unifor and join CLAC Local 304. Staff at Hampton Court, owned by Comfort of Living, first joined CLAC Local 304 in 1990. After 20 years of CLAC representation, they decided to give Unifor a try in 2010. Unhappy with the representation they were receiving, they opted to return to CLAC. “We are excited about rejoining CLAC again,” says long-time employee Lynn Skripka, who is an RPN at the home. “We tried Unifor for nine years and found them to be unresponsive to our needs at the local level.” Hampton Court is a 32-bed retirement home. The professional staff provide nursing and personal care, housekeeping, meals, laundry, and recreation services to residents.
