Friday, April 11, 2025 Waltec Electricians Vote Strongly in Favour of New Contract Locals Local 6 Ratifications Sectors Construction BOLTON, ON—Employees of Waltec Electrical Services Ltd., an electrical contractor based in Bolton, Ontario, voted 84 percent in favour of ratifying a three-year collective agreement providing them with significant wage increases and other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 6. The union has represented the company’s employees since 2009. The new contract provides employees with wage increases totalling more than 15 percent over the term. In addition, improvements were made to the boot allowance, travel provisions, bereavement pay, and benefits coverage. The agreement also includes increases to employer contributions to employees’ pension plans. “The union bargaining committee was able to reach a settlement with the employer that achieves the members’ priorities,” says Robert Brink, CLAC representative. “We are happy to see it endorsed overwhelmingly by the membership.” The 50 electricians and apprentices employed by Waltec work on industrial and commercial projects throughout southern Ontario.
