Wednesday, March 21, 2018 Wages Increased, Benefits Maintained with New Contract Ratified by Skyway Canada Workers Local 63 Ratifications Fort McMurray, AB—Local 63 members employed by Skyway Canada Limited recently voted 77 per cent in favour of a new two-year contract. Under the new collective agreement, wages for journeyman insulators will increase by 1.3 percent for new construction jobs. The benefits and retirement packages were maintained, consistent with other CLAC single-source scaffolding/insulating companies in the province. Skyway has several hundred employees working across Alberta in insulation and scaffolding, including approximately 150 insulators at Fort Hills, and approximately 150 scaffolders and insulators at various sites across the rest of the province.
