The employees, who work as floor installers, labourers, and technicians, are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented the company’s employees since 2019. Along with wage increases, the agreement includes a two percent increase to employees’ retirement savings and a shortened waiting period for enrolment. Other improvements include a $50 increase to the boot allowance and increases to shift premiums and the daily out-of-town allowance. “We’re pleased with the outcome of negotiations and with the unanimous support for the settlement by the membership,” says Randy Parris, CLAC representative. “The union bargaining committee identified members’ priorities and achieved them in bargaining. The strong agreement offers security for our members and their families while also helping the company to retain and attract the skilled workforce it needs to succeed.” Industrial Floor Systems is a full-service flooring systems contractor serving industrial, commercial, and institutional markets throughout the GTA.
