Wage Increases, Other Gains for Pine Grove Employees with New Contract

Vaughan, Ontario—Employees of Pine Grove Lodge in Woodbridge, Ontario, voted 97 percent in favour of ratifying a new two-year collective agreement. The employees are members of Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 304.

Employees working at the long term care facility will receive a wage increase of four percent. The agreement also includes improvements to maternity leave top-up, increased weekend premiums, and special adjustments to classifications.

“This agreement has us moving in the right direction,” says Ruth Ann Ferguson, CLAC representative. “We look forward to building on it in two years when the contract will be up for renewal.”
