Wednesday, March 4, 2026 Villano Construction Employees Gain Significant Improvements with New Contract Local 52 Ratifications Construction SUDBURY, ON—Local 52 members employed by Villano Construction Limited ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with significant improvements to wages, benefits, and allowances. Local 52 has represented Villano Construction employees since 2011. The new contract, effective from March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2029, provides steady annual wage increases of four percent in 2026, three percent in 2027, and three percent in 2028. The agreement also expands vacation pay entitlements, provides a $500 annual personal protective equipment reimbursement, and introduces one paid personal emergency leave day per year. In addition, the employer will review opportunities to enhance dental, vision, and paramedical coverage as part of the benefits plan and increase contributions to the CLAC Training Fund to $0.25 per hour. “This settlement reflects a fair and balanced outcome that recognizes the value our members bring to Villano’s success,” says Matthew Walchuk, representative. “The improvements to wages, vacation pay, and health benefits demonstrate respect for the skill and dedication of our members and strengthen an already solid working relationship between the union and the company.” Villano Construction, based in Sudbury, Ontario, is an established construction company providing site preparation, concrete, and infrastructure services for residential, commercial, and industrial projects across northern Ontario.
