Thursday, October 7, 2021 Village of McBride Employees Unanimously Ratify New Contract Locals Local 501 Ratifications McBride, BC—Employees of the Village of McBride in northern BC recently voted unanimously in favour of a renewal of their collective agreement providing them with wage increase and other gains. The 12 employees have been represented by Service, Health, Manufacturing, and Allied Workers Union, CLAC Local 501, since 2015. Negotiations for the renewal began in February 2020 and were subsequently delayed by several challenges, primarily the pandemic lockdown measures and a turnover of management staff bargaining on behalf of the employer. The new agreement is for a two-year term and includes annual wage increases of two percent, as well as several other monetary and nonmonetary gains. Local 501 members employed by the Village of McBride and McBride Community Forest Corporation work in administration and public works, keeping operations running smoothly for the approximately 600 residents who live in the community.
