Thursday, December 19, 2019 Union Dues and Political Contributions in Alberta Submission to the Alberta Government Policy Briefs CLAC welcomes the opportunity to offer its perspective and recommendations concerning union dues and political contributions to the Alberta government. In our view, Alberta would be well-served by public policy that limits political contributions by unions and corporations. CLAC supports policies that are transparent, enforceable, fair, and balanced in their treatment of both unions and corporations. Any new measures related to political contributions should be applied to both unions and corporations. This submission focusses on union and third-party partisan political contributions. It provides solutions that address concerns about current policy and practice. Download and read the full submission below.
