The two-year contract includes wage increases for the civil division of 1.5 percent effective July 1, 2021, and another 1.5 percent increase effective March 1, 2022. A wage review is scheduled for March 2023. The majority of TWI’s employees are working in the Calgary region on a number of civil construction projects. A smaller number of members are working at two sites in the Fort McMurray region. “The negotiation process was effective with strong endorsement of the settlement by the membership,” says Izzy Huygen, CLAC representative. “That the agreement includes three percent wage rate increases for the civil construction sector is a positive sign for a recovering economy and construction sector.” You might be interested in Why We Work Safely 5 Jun 2026 Standing Your Ground, and Staying Steady on the Job 4 Jun 2026 CLAC Partners with Alberta Government to Advance Skilled Trades Training and Accelerate Certification 4 Jun 2026 Strathcona Mechanical Workers Ratify New Agreement Providing Wage, Scheduling Improvements 3 Jun 2026
