Friday, April 22, 2022 Tri-Unite Electricians Unanimously Ratify New Contract Locals Local 52 Ratifications Sectors Construction Newmarket, ON—Electricians employed by Tri-Unite Systems Inc. unanimously ratified a three-year collective agreement providing them with wage increases and other improvements. The employees are represented by Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 52. The union has represented them since 2016. The new contract provides a 3 percent wage increase as of May 1, 2022, followed by 2.5 and 2.4 percent increases in years two and three respectively. Employees with five years and ten years of service will see an increase of two percent vacation pay. Other key additions include increases to employer contributions to the employees’ pension plan to 12 percent, 2 paid sick days, and 6 percent lead-hand and 12 percent foreperson premiums. “The members favoured their work culture and niche market and collaborated well with management and the union to achieve the best outcome for everyone,” says Randy Parris, CLAC representative. “The bargaining committee was assertive yet realistic when communicating the priorities of the group.” Tri-Unite Systems Ltd. is a full-service electrical firm that performs a variety of electrical installations including commercial renovations and design/build industrial projects in the GTA and surrounding areas.
